Come and join us for a fun filled action packed tour!
Our bus tours will be starting at Tool Shed Brewing Co in Calgary from there the bus will travel to Strathmore to pick up more visitors. Our first stop will be at Scott and Brandy Schiffner’s Ranch. Here you will see real cowboys and cowgirls in their natural element, Scott Schiffner is a 2 time Calgary Stampede bull riding champion as well as a Canadian bull riding champion. Scott is the best bull rider to come out of Canada, and one of the best promoters of rodeo and ranching in the world!! There will be Scott’s Beef Jerky and refreshments available for cash sales.
After visiting this amazing ranch the bus will travel to Hilton Ventures farm. This farm is truly one of a kind. This 5th generation farm was absolutely pivotal in soil and water conservation way before it was cool! Along with the many accolades and advancements in modern agriculture coming from this very farm, they were the first farm to sign a contract outside of the Canadian wheat board! As the day the wheat board was dissolved they were down in Petaluma California signing a contract with the great brewery Lagunitas Brewing Co!! You will enjoy this hands on informative tour.
After, the bus will arrive at Origin Malting and Brewing Co in Strathmore. They are a new family run business that takes Alberta malting barley, known to be the best barley in the world, grown on our local family farm, to produce quality malt and will be supplying Alberta craft breweries later this year. They proudly produce their own craft beer in-house to showcase their craft malt. Here guests can expect an amazing tour of the brewery and beer tasting while being told the unique “grain to glass” story. As well as enjoy a fantastic meal with Farm Girls Food Truck with beef influenced menu – $10 food ticket will be provided by our food service sponsor – ATB Financial with Terry Andryo. Terry is a guy you will want to meet, Director of Community Initiatives at ATB Financial, Terry is proudly involved in the agriculture and Alberta craft brewery community.
After everyone’s tummy is full of great beer and food the bus will travel back to Tool Shed Brewing for a tour with Graham Sherman, one of the co-owners. This is a one of a kind tour you certainly don’t want to miss! The story of Tool Shed Brewing Company began in 2007, where company founders Graham Sherman and Jeff Orr met while performing IT work for government and military SATCOM networks. When the two returned to Canada, they began meeting at Graham’s place and brewing a few small batches of home brew in his tool shed out back. Never forgetting their roots, they opened Tool Shed Brewing Company in 2012. Proud Calgarians Graham and Jeff opened a new brewing facility in the summer of 2014 in North Eastern Calgary. They have steadily grown the brand in just a few short years. A thirst for innovation has driven them to develop truly unique beers.
